VAMNICOM: 93 receive PGDM-ABM Degrees; Mohol presides

VAMNICOM Hosts 17th Convocation Ceremony in Pune

One of the country’s leading agri-business management institutes, the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, hosted its 17th Annual Convocation Ceremony for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Agri-Business Management (PGDM-ABM) 2023–25 (31st Batch) on Saturday at the Shivneri Auditorium on the institute’s campus.

At the ceremony, 93 students were conferred the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri-Business Management). Three meritorious students of the 31st batch were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, which were presented in person by Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The PGDM-ABM programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, graded as equivalent to an MBA degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

Minu Shukla Pathak, IRS, Director (In-charge), VAMNICOM, and Secretary, National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), New Delhi, welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished invitees, faculty members and parents of the graduating students. She informed the gathering that the Chief Guest also inaugurated the newly constructed Shivneri Auditorium and highlighted the academic, professional and co-curricular activities undertaken by students during the two-year PGDM-ABM programme.

This was followed by the announcement of medal winners by Dr D. Ravi, Head of Centre and Joint Programme Director. Kishore Manogna Sundari emerged as the overall topper of the 31st batch and was awarded the NCUI Meritorious Gold Medal. Karnati Bhanu Sree received the NCUI Meritorious Scholarship along with the Silver Medal, while Pasumarthi Monika Siri was awarded the Bronze Medal.

Delivering the convocation address, Murlidhar Mohol congratulated all 93 graduating students of the 31st PGDM-ABM batch for successfully completing the programme through dedication and discipline. He underlined the critical role played by the cooperative sector in strengthening India’s rural economy and noted that, under the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation,” the sector is witnessing significant reforms and growth.

He described the graduating students not merely as management professionals, but as future leaders of India’s cooperative movement, and urged them to uphold the values of trust, cooperation, innovation and responsibility in their professional journeys.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr S. Dharmaraj, Registrar, VAMNICOM, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest and the institute’s leadership for their presence and support. He thanked all distinguished guests and attendees for contributing to the success of the ceremony, congratulated the graduating students, and appreciated the efforts of CPWD officials for the timely completion of the Shivneri Auditorium.
