Pankaj Kumar Bansal, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation and Managing Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation, was felicitated during the State Cooperative Development Committee meeting held on January 16, 2026, at the Secretariat in Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He was welcomed by Dr Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, in the presence of senior officials.
The meeting was attended by Rajesh Chopra, IAS, Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-Registrar of Cooperative Societies, and Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary (Agriculture), along with other officers of the Union Territory administration. The SCDC meeting provided a platform to review ongoing cooperative activities and outline future development strategies in the Union Territory.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperative institutions, improving governance standards, and expanding access to institutional finance and capacity-building support. Key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, credit, and allied activities were reviewed, with emphasis on collaboration with NCDC and other national agencies to promote inclusive growth and sustainable cooperative development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
