The elections to the Board of Directors of the Karnataka State Urban Co-operative Banks’ Federation (KSUCBF), Bengaluru, have been largely decided unopposed, under the leadership of senior co-operator H.K. Patil. The outcome has paved the way for a stable five-year term for the incoming Board.
Out of the 18 seats on the Federation’s Board, all seats have gone unopposed except one seat reserved for the Salary Earners’ Co-operative Banks, for which polling is scheduled to be held on January 4, 2026.
Two candidates are in the fray for the reserved seat, Dr. M.B. Manjegowda, representing the Railway Co-operative Bank, Mysuru, and Anandgouda N. Biradar, representing the Government Employees’ Co-operative Bank, Vijayapura. A total of 176 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in this election.
The directors elected unopposed include H.K. Patil, B.S. Paramashivayya, M.R. Venkatesh, N.M. Suresh, D.T. Patil, Mahantappa Metagudda, Ashok Mallappa Managuli, Mahagundappa Kallappa, Ramesh Babu, S.B.M. Manju, H. Jayaprakash, G. Srinivasamurthy, S.P. Sheshadri, Shanmukhappa Muchchandi, Malakanna D. Patil, Banashankari H.R., and Mallamma C. Yalavar.
The Karnataka State Cooperative Urban Banks Federation Ltd., Bengaluru, an apex-level body registered under the Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act, 1959, was constituted with the objective of promoting the co-operative movement and providing training and education to the urban banking sector.
The newly constituted Board is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening governance, capacity building, and policy direction in the urban co-operative banking space over the next five years.
The newly elected board members, including M. R. Venkatesh, N. M. Suresh, and others, met H. K. Patil and expressed their gratitude.
