The regional footprint of State Co-operative Banks (StCBs) and District Central Co-operative Banks (DCCBs) across India expanded steadily between 2022 and 2025, reflecting the continued strengthening of the co-operative banking network, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
As per the latest data for 2025, the total number of centres with offices of StCBs and DCCBs rose to 11,339, up from 10,497 in 2022, while the total number of offices increased significantly to 14,408 from 13,101. Rural centres continued to dominate the landscape, accounting for 7,207 centres and 7,471 offices in 2025, underlining the sector’s core focus on grassroots credit delivery.
Region-wise, the Western Region remained the largest contributor, with 4,185 centres and 5,154 offices in 2025, led by Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Southern Region followed with 2,143 centres and 2,939 offices, supported by strong networks in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana. The Northern Region recorded 2,105 centres and 2,605 offices, while the Central Region accounted for 1,876 centres and 2,455 offices.
The Eastern and North Eastern Regions also witnessed moderate expansion, indicating gradual strengthening of co-operative banking presence in these areas. Overall, the data highlights a sustained push to deepen financial inclusion through co-operative banks, with growth visible across rural, semi-urban and urban centres over the three-year period.
