The Himachal Pradesh government plans to waive 50% interest on agricultural loans up to Rs 3 lakh, offering relief to struggling farmers.
At a meeting in Rajgarh celebrating the International Cooperative Year, Sanjay Singh Chauhan, Chairman of the State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, emphasized co-ops’ role in expanding easy loan access in 2025–26.
The bank aims to accelerate loan disbursal under state and central schemes and introduce new loans for women and youth.
Over 300 co-op representatives discussed their operations, benefits, and challenges, highlighting cooperatives’ importance in supporting rural economic growth.
