Amul has announced a Rs 2 per litre price hike on all milk variants, effective May 1, 2025, according to GCMMF. This translates to a 3–4% increase in MRP, lower than the national food inflation rate.
March 2025 food inflation stood at 2.69%, down from 3.75% in February and 8.52% in March 2024.
Following the hike, a 500 ml pouch of Amul Gold will cost Rs 34, and Amul Shakti Rs 31 in Gujarat. Earlier, in January 2025, Amul had reduced milk prices by Rs 1 per litre nationwide.
