With the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive kicking off on Monday, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi took his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at Max Delhi.

“Feeling proud as today on 1st March,2021; I took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine #Covishield Vaccine by Serum Institute of India @SerumInstIndia at 1.30pm. Hats off to all our doctors & scientists who worked together to fight against COVID-19. Let’s make India COVID-19 free!”, shared Awasthi through his twitter wall after taking a dose of vaccine.

In the second phase, vaccines will be administered free of cost at government hospitals and health centres, while up to Rs 250 per dose will be charged at private health facilities.

On Monday, several politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
