The owner of brand Amul, GCMMF contemplates making huge investments to increase capacities in markets like Kolkata and Andhra Pradesh, in addition to its strong-hold Gujarat.
The Federation will invest more than Rs 1,200 crore towards the new initiative.
GCMMF M.D R.S.Sodhi said the investments were necessary given the rising demand for the packaged banded dairy products. Amul had earlier decided to invest nearly Rs 1,500 crore in the next two years.
