At present, when Corporate India is struggling to cope with the current situation created by the coronavirus, here is an example from the cooperative sector- fertilizer cooperative IFFCO which has met its monthly production targets for April 2020 for all its Units.

From autos to steels and from TVs to laptops, except for the pharma sector Corporate India could hardly perform in these trying times. Yet, IFFCO has sprung a surprise, claimed an official from IFFCO’s headquarters.

The IFFCO units- from Kalol to Paradeep to Phulpur to Aonla to Kandla have achieved their production targets for the month of April – an achievement that led IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi to congratulating their heads as well as their teams through social media.

The MD tweets, ‘Good work by #IFFCO #Kalol Unit @dginamdar & team even at time of complete lockdown due to #corona, the unit produced & despatched #urea fertiliser. The unit almost completed the monthly production targets for #April2020.

Similarly, he congratulated the IFFCO Aonla Unit head I C Jha and his team for their achievements. “Good work by #IFFCO #Aonla Unit @icjha_iffco & team as at this time of complete lockdown due to #corona, the unit produced & despatched #urea fertiliser. Awasthi also congratulated IFFCO’s Paradeep Unit team for achieving the targets. Sharing the greetings through social media, the IFFCO MD wrote, “Good work by #IFFCO #Paradeep Unit @kjpatelparadeep & team even in the time of complete lockdown due to #corona, unit produced & dispatched complex fertilisers and almost completed the monthly production targets for #April2020.

In another tweet, he congratulated the IFFCO’s Phulpur and Kandla Unit heads and their teams for achieving monthly production targets for April 2020.

Besides, the IFFCO MD also congratulated Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar for doing most of the sales through the PoS machine.

He wrote on his twitter wall, “Brilliant work done by #IFFCO Marketing @iffcoyogendra & his team event at this time of complete lockdown due to #corona, the RO sales increased by 46% & by POS machine, the sales increased by 53% by volume in #April2020.

Meanwhile, despite the challenging conditions during the fortnight, IFFCO’s arm Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative (IFFDC) intake of 3.20 Lakh Qtls of raw seeds of Wheat, Gram, Barley & Mustard was received by seed grower farmers.

IFFCO is also active at the ground level in the current situation winning applause from the Central and state govts.
