Hyderabad High Court says State Cooperative Election Authority mentioned in the Cooperative Societies Act will alone conduct the elections for Karimnagar Cooperative Urban Bank. The court set aside the notification issued by the District Collector to conduct elections, reports Hindu.
A petition filed in the court had said that after the amendment to the Cooperative Societies Act by Telangana State, a State Cooperative Election Authority has been constituted and it alone shall conduct elections.
The court took into consideration the amendment to the Cooperative Societies Act and judgment of the Division Bench while setting aside the election notification to Karimnagar Cooperative Urban Bank.

When there is a Cooperative Election Authority to conduct elections to cooperatives,
there is no role of District Collector.I welcome order of Honorable Court.
