Underlining the importance of social media Sahakar Bharati launched its web portal at a regional function held at Vrindavan Hall of Raipur in Chhattisgarh recently. Sahakar Bharati is the cooperative arm of RSS.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Satish Marathe, the national president of the organization said we have to keep in sight our “Vision 2025”. We need to have clear roadmap of our goals such as capacity building, chartering course for hitherto unknown areas and strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.

Explaining the role cooperative can play in various aspects of economic activities Marathe emphasized on its increased adoption by people.

The Chairman of Apex Bank Shri Ashok Bajaj said that we need to convert self help groups into cooperatives. There should also be emphasis on opening cold storages and godowns at block level, Bajaj added.

There are about 11 lakhs farmers associated with cooperative societies and there is a need to link their bank accounts to the insurance policy announced by the Prime Minister Naredra Modi, Bajaj said.

Radhekrishna Gupta emphasized on increased use of bio-fertilizer in place of chemical fertilizer to save the health of soil.

There were several important cooperative leaders who graced the occasion such as Sahakar Bharati’s national organizing secretary Shri Vijay Devangan, Shri Tiwari, VC of Kamdhenu University Shri Mishra and others.
