The premium collection of IFFCO-Tokio guesstimated earlier at around Rs 3000 crore, has finally crossed the Rs 3,350 crore mark bringing cheers to the insurance team.
A jubilant Managing Director of IFFCO Dr U S Awasthi who has emerged as the chief communicator as well of the cooperative giant announced the good news through a tweet on Tuesday.
Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted “Congratulations @IFFCO__TOKIO Team @y_lohiya 4 achieving d highest #GrossDirectPremium of ?3,3500 Million for FY2014-15 @tokiomarine_cor.”
As earlier reported in these columns “Muskurate Raho” insurance plan of the IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance proved popular among consumers who reposed faith in the product putting in close to Rs 3350 crore as premium.
The IFFCO-Tokio is the insurance arm of the largest farmers’ cooperative IFFCO. It is a joint venture promoted by IFFCO and its associates The Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire, the largest insurance company in Japan.
The Indian promoter’s contribution is 74 percent, while Tokio Marine contributes 26 percent through group company Tokio Marine Asia. Yogesh Lohia, MD of the IFFCO-Tokio, and a well-known professional of the insurance sector, feels Muskurate Raho is useful for people caught in present day life full of risks and tension.
The scheme is capable of addressing the anxieties of the middle class through its various insurance products and unmatched service quality, he added.
The plan was launched earlier with much fanfare and an ad campaign titled Albert Pinto kyon muskura raha hai featured Paresh Rawal as Albert Pinto.
