The Surat district cooperative milk union that packages Amul milk pouches will soon take legal action against a flower seller from Udhna who has posted fake pics of a dead rat floating in the AMUL milk on Whatsapp. The pics have gone viral provoking furious reactions from the people. Meanwhile, the florist has refused to be forthcoming with the needed evidence in the matter. .
A source from the cooperative union is quoted as saying their packaging facility is ultra – modern and hygienic and such things are unimaginable. This is absolutely a calculated move by some of our competitors to tarnish the SUMUL’s image as well as the image of their umbrella body Amul, source said.
According to Manish Bhatt, Sumsul’s AGM, ” a series of such baseless cases have lately come to our notice and we are taking necessary legal steps against those involved in damaging our reputation”.
Sumul supplies around 10 lakh litres of milk daily in pouches across the city and south Gujarat region.
