The portents have been building up for quite sometimes. Several cooperators in Kerala have expressed their displeasure with the role of Income Tax department in the past.
Driven to wall Kerala cooperative council – a representative body of cooperatives in the state has decided to protest against the growing interference of the IT dept in the cooperative sector.
All cooperatives across the state will stop working on the day of protest. Throughout the state cooperators will march to the IT offices protesting what they call the mischief of the nosy parkers from the IT dept.
A large number of leaders belonging to various political parties are expected to join the cooperators’ protest marches.
Sources aver cooperatives in Kerala have always been sore about the IT dept. creating problems for them regardless of their contributions towards the transformation of the state.
