IFFCO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, to promote balanced fertiliser use and encourage alternatives to conventional chemical fertilisers.

The agreement, facilitated by the initiative of Vice-Chancellor Dr Gyanendra Pratap Singh, focuses on reducing dependence on chemical fertilisers through integrated nutrient management, including nano fertilisers, biofertilisers and micronutrients.

The MoU was signed by Dr S K Singh, Deputy General Manager (Marketing), IFFCO, Lucknow, and Dr R B Singh, Director of Extension at the university.

Under the first phase, demonstrations will be conducted during each crop season at 10 selected Krishi Vigyan Kendras and on the fields of 100 farmers. Farmers will also receive regular training and technical guidance on the benefits, application methods and effective use of alternative fertilisers.

University officials, including Dr Jaswant Singh, Dr Rudra Pratap Singh, Dr Sushant Srivastava and Dr Bhupendra Singh, attended the occasion.

The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration between agricultural research and the cooperative sector while promoting sustainable, environmentally friendly farming practices and improving farmers’ awareness of modern fertiliser solutions.
