The Security Vertical of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Odisha Licensed Service Area (LSA), conducted a virtual awareness session on the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FFRI) for eight cooperative banks in Odisha that are yet to be onboarded onto the platform.

The session was organised in association with the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Odisha, whose Convenor is UCO Bank.

The initiative focused on sensitising cooperative banks about the FFRI platform and encouraging their onboarding to strengthen the identification and prevention of financial frauds.

The FFRI is an important initiative in the fight against digital financial fraud, providing financial institutions with risk-related inputs to help identify potentially fraudulent mobile numbers and transactions.

The participation of cooperative banks in such initiatives is significant, given the growing adoption of digital banking services and the need to strengthen cybersecurity and fraud prevention mechanisms across the cooperative banking network.

The programme was shared by DoT Odisha LSA, a unit of the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
