The Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL), Bengaluru, organised a meeting of resource persons on October 15 at Souharda Sahakari Soudha, Malleswaram, to strengthen its education and training activities and improve the quality of capacity-building programmes for Souharda cooperatives.
KSSFCL President G. Nanjana Gowda inaugurated the meeting by lighting the traditional lamp. Vice-President A.R. Prasanna Kumar presided over the programme, while Managing Director Sharanagouda G. Patil delivered the introductory address. KSSFCL officer Chandrashekaraiah welcomed the participants, and Divya T. led the prayer.
The meeting brought together subject experts, trainers, retired Cooperative Department officials and professionals associated with banking and cooperative institutions. It provided a platform for exchanging experiences, reviewing existing training programmes and identifying emerging areas requiring greater attention.
An overview of KSSFCL’s education and training activities was presented through a PowerPoint presentation, accompanied by a note outlining the Federal’s initiatives and achievements.
The deliberations focused on making training programmes more need-based, practical, participatory and outcome-oriented. Participants emphasised that training should address the actual challenges faced by Souharda cooperatives and their personnel rather than remain confined to theoretical knowledge.
Experts highlighted the growing importance of incorporating contemporary subjects, including digital technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cooperative governance, accounting, audit and regulatory compliance. They stressed that regular updating of training materials was essential to keep pace with changes in the cooperative and banking sectors.
The resource persons also recommended greater use of real-life case studies, successful cooperative business models, field experiences, group discussions and interactive sessions. Such methods, they felt, would enable participants to relate classroom learning to their day-to-day responsibilities and improve their professional effectiveness.
Other suggestions included developing a structured database of subject experts, systematically collecting feedback from trainees and maintaining continuous engagement with experienced professionals to design new courses and training modules.
The meeting also sought to strengthen the network of resource persons associated with KSSFCL, encouraging sustained knowledge-sharing and professional collaboration.
Presiding over the meeting, Prasanna Kumar assured participants that their valuable suggestions would be considered while designing future programmes. He appreciated their willingness to contribute expertise towards improving the Federal’s training initiatives.
The meeting concluded with KSSFCL acknowledging the active participation and constructive inputs of the experts. The Education and Training Department expressed confidence that their guidance would help develop more relevant, effective and quality-oriented programmes, strengthening the capabilities of Souharda cooperatives and their personnel.
