The Maharashtra government has released the third list of eligible farmers under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme 2026, covering 3,51,192 farmers across the state. The announcement is significant for the cooperative banking sector, which plays a key role in agricultural credit delivery.
Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil urged eligible farmers to verify their outstanding loan balances and complete Aadhaar authentication at their nearest Aaple Seva Kendra to avail themselves of the benefit.
Under the scheme, crop loans disbursed between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2025, which remained overdue as of September 30, 2025 and unpaid by March 31, 2026, are eligible for a waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh. Restructured and re-restructured loans are also covered.
According to the minister, banks have uploaded details of 31.17 lakh overdue loan accounts on the online portal, while lists covering 24.67 lakh beneficiaries have been published for Aadhaar authentication.
Following authentication, the approved waiver amount will be credited directly to the farmers’ loan accounts.
