The Ministry of Cooperation has highlighted the availability of ‘Bharati AI’, the voice-based agricultural assistant under the Government’s Bharat-VISTAAR platform, which enables farmers to seek solutions to farming-related problems by simply dialling 155261.

Bharat-VISTAAR (Virtually Integrated System to Access Agricultural Resources) was launched on February 17, 2026, in Jaipur by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The AI-powered, voice-first platform was designed to provide farmers with information on crop management, weather, mandi prices, pests and diseases, soil health and government schemes.

The ‘Bharati’ AI assistant allows even farmers using basic phones to access agricultural advice without requiring a smartphone or internet connection. Initially available in Hindi and English, the platform is being expanded to additional Indian languages.

The initiative is being positioned as a major technology-driven step towards empowering farmers.
