Union Ministers of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol jointly reviewed the progress of implementation of the National Cooperation Policy, 2025, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.
The meeting, attended by officers of the Policy Division of the Ministry of Cooperation, focused on the progress of key recommendations and initiatives arising from the policy.
The review covered the Model Cooperative Act, formulation of state-level cooperation policies, digitisation of offices of Registrars of Cooperative Societies (RCS) and the ongoing survey of the cooperative sector.
The Ministers discussed the current implementation strategies, potential challenges and pending tasks, and issued necessary directions for their timely and effective completion.
The meeting assumes significance as the National Cooperation Policy seeks to provide a comprehensive framework for strengthening the cooperative movement and expanding its role in economic and social development.
The Ministry said the review was aimed at ensuring that key policy recommendations move forward in a coordinated and time-bound manner.
