NAFED has introduced a performance-linked incentive mechanism for its employees as part of an effort to professionalise its workforce and improve organisational performance, Managing Director Deepak Agarwal said at the federation’s 69th Annual General Body Meeting at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Explaining the initiative, Agarwal said the budget earlier earmarked for fixed ex-gratia payments has been restructured, with 50 percent being set aside for incentives linked to performance. The move is aimed at encouraging employees to contribute more directly to NAFED’s business growth and operational efficiency.
He indicated that professionalising the workforce was essential as NAFED expands its activities beyond traditional government-supported operations and seeks to build a stronger commercial base.
Agarwal said a motivated and professionally oriented workforce would be critical for NAFED as it embraces technology, expands non-government business and prepares the cooperative to withstand future challenges.
The initiative forms part of a broader organisational transformation underway at NAFED, aimed at making the federation more efficient, accountable and future-ready.
