The Competent Authority has approved the assignment of additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation to Govind Mohan, IAS (SK:1989), who is currently serving as Union Home Secretary.
Mohan will hold the additional responsibility from September 17 to September 26, 2026, during the period of leave of Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS (AM:1992), the incumbent Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation.
The arrangement is temporary and does not involve any change in Mohan’s existing assignment as Home Secretary. He will discharge the responsibilities of Cooperation Secretary in addition to his present duties during the specified period.
Govind Mohan is a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Sikkim cadre and has been serving as Union Home Secretary. The additional charge will ensure continuity in the administrative functioning of the Ministry of Cooperation during Bhutani’s absence.
