Cooperation Secretary Ashish Bhutani chaired a comprehensive review meeting on September 9 at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, to assess the functioning and progress of three national-level multi-state cooperative societies, NCEL, NCOL and BBSSL.

The meeting focused on their performance, key challenges and measures to further strengthen cooperative-led national initiatives. Additional Secretary Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Joint Secretary Raman Kumar, NCEL Managing Director Unupom Kausik and representatives of BBSSL and NCOL, along with senior Ministry officials, attended the meeting.

The review comes as the Ministry continues to expand the role of national cooperative societies in creating stronger market linkages and supporting cooperative-led economic activities.

The deliberations also sought to identify measures for improving the effectiveness and reach of these institutions in line with the government’s broader “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” vision.
