The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) organised a National Workshop on “Cooperative Marketing Federation: Challenges & Opportunities”, focusing on strengthening cooperative marketing institutions and creating better market opportunities for farmers.
The workshop was led by Pankaj Bansal, IAS, Managing Director, NCDC, and brought together senior representatives from cooperative marketing federations, including Abhijeet Agrawal, IAS, MD, MARKFED, Madhya Pradesh; Vishesh Sarangal, IAS, MD, MARKFED, Punjab; and Dilraj Prabhakar, IFS, MARKFED, Chhattisgarh.
DMD (Finance), DMD (General), DG, LINAC, and senior NCDC officials also participated in the deliberations, reflecting NCDC’s focus on strengthening cooperative marketing as an important pillar of the cooperative movement.
Discussions centred on collective marketing, stronger market networks, value addition, institutional convergence and technology-driven solutions. Participants also emphasised farmer-centric approaches to make cooperative marketing federations more competitive, resilient and better equipped to tap emerging market opportunities.
