The integration of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) is set to strengthen market access for organic farmers, particularly in Bihar.

The initiative will help connect farmers and their organic produce with wider and better-paying markets while strengthening branding, packaging and marketing through the cooperative network.

NCOL is mandated to support aggregation, certification, procurement, processing, branding and marketing of organic products through member cooperatives, including PACS and FPOs.

The integration is expected to create greater opportunities for farmers to secure remunerative prices for their produce. It will also provide PACS with a stronger role in the organic value chain.

According to the statement, the arrangement includes a provision for a 10% assured dividend, potentially adding another income avenue for participating cooperatives.
