The Rajasthan government has given in-principle approval for the formation of four new District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) in Phalodi, Pratapgarh, Didwana-Kuchaman and Balotra districts, with a total financial allocation of Rs 31.68 crore.

The approval includes Rs 14 crore as capital grant and around Rs 17.68 crore as the state government’s share capital for the proposed banks.

According to the details, each of the four banks will receive Rs 3.50 crore as capital grant for construction of buildings and purchase of furniture and computer equipment. The proposed state share includes Rs 4.37 crore for Phalodi, Rs 4.16 crore for Pratapgarh, Rs 4.03 crore for Didwana-Kuchaman and Rs 5.12 crore for Balotra.

The move follows the announcement of the four new cooperative banks by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during a state-level programme in Alwar.

The Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank has also directed officials to expedite the formation of required committees and complete other formalities for operationalising the new banks.
