Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) are expanding their role as village-level service centres by offering more than 300 services available through Common Service Centres (CSC).
Under the initiative, 649 training programmes have been conducted across 564 districts in 25 states to familiarise PACS representatives with the CSC portal and enable them to deliver a wider range of digital and citizen-centric services at the grassroots level.
A total of 30,271 PACS representatives have received training through these programmes, strengthening the capacity of cooperative societies to serve rural communities more effectively. The initiative is part of the broader effort to transform PACS into multipurpose institutions and improve access to essential services in villages.
By integrating CSC services with PACS, the cooperative network can provide greater convenience to rural citizens while creating additional avenues for PACS to expand their activities and generate income. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on empowering cooperatives and promoting inclusive rural development.
