Gujarat Legislative Assembly Speaker and Banas Dairy Chairman Shankarbhai Chaudhary called upon young management professionals to play a leading role in strengthening India’s cooperative movement and transforming the rural economy.
Addressing the Annual Convocation 2026 of the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, Chaudhary congratulated the graduating students of the 32nd PGDM–ABM batch (2024–26) and urged them to apply their knowledge and skills to agriculture, cooperatives and rural development.
Emphasising the growing opportunities in the cooperative sector, he said young professionals must combine managerial skills with integrity, innovation and a spirit of service. He also highlighted the need for efficient, transparent, technology-enabled and member-centric cooperative institutions under the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation.”
VAMNICOM Director Dr. Suva Kanta Mohanty highlighted the Institute’s academic initiatives and collaborations in cooperative development, rural banking, fisheries, supply chains, value-chain development and women-led cooperatives.
Mohanty also informed the gathering that the 2024–26 PGDM–ABM batch achieved 100% placement, with graduates securing positions in organisations including NDDB, NCDFI, GCMMF (Amul), NCDC, NCEL, NCML, ICICI Bank, BigBasket, Zomato Hyperpure, IFFCO-MC Crop Science, Godrej Agrovet, Syngenta Foundation India, Adani Agri Fresh, Federal Bank and DCB Bank, among others.
The highest package stood at Rs 17.11 lakh, while the average salary was Rs 11.15 lakh, reflecting strong industry demand for trained professionals in agribusiness and cooperative management.
Degrees were conferred upon eligible students, while meritorious graduates were recognised for their academic achievements. The convocation marked the successful completion of the academic journey of the 32nd batch and underscored VAMNICOM’s role in preparing professionals for India’s cooperative and agribusiness sectors.
