Mizoram Cooperation Minister Pu PC Vanlalruata on Tuesday distributed computer sets to 50 Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) selected under Phase-III of the Computerisation of PACS programme.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Aizawl.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister expressed satisfaction that the Cooperation Department had successfully facilitated the distribution of computers to the selected Multi-Purpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (MPACS). He said the initiative reflected the importance being given to PACS by both the Central Government and the Mizoram Government.
Describing PACS as institutions capable of transforming Mizoram, Pu Vanlalruata urged the beneficiary societies to make effective use of the computers and work towards strengthening their cooperatives for the benefit of their members and local communities.
