Pankaj Kumar Bansal, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, and Managing Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), visited Odisha from July 30 to August 1, 2026, to review key cooperative initiatives and strengthen coordination with the state government.
During the three-day visit, Bansal held meetings with senior officials, including the Principal Secretary of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Cooperation Department, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), and the heads of the Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB), Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED), and Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation.
He briefed state officials on major initiatives being implemented by the Ministry of Cooperation to modernize and strengthen the cooperative sector nationwide.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in agriculture, MSP procurement, dairy, fisheries, handloom, handicrafts, cooperative banking, and other priority sectors.
The visit reaffirmed the joint commitment of the Ministry of Cooperation, NCDC, and the Government of Odisha to build a modern, resilient, and inclusive cooperative ecosystem while promoting sustainable socio-economic development across the state.
