Marking the International Year of Women Farmers (IYWF) 2026, the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) has announced a Rs 10,000 Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) bonus for eligible women farmers under the Atmanirbhar Dalhan Mission.
In a social media post, NCCF said the initiative recognises the vital contribution of women farmers to pulses procurement and reflects its commitment to supporting women-led agricultural development through concrete measures rather than symbolic gestures.
The federation said the incentive is aimed at encouraging greater participation of women in pulse production and procurement while strengthening the objectives of the Atmanirbhar Dalhan Mission.
The initiative also aligns with the government’s broader efforts to promote self-reliance in pulse production, enhance farmers’ incomes and empower women in agriculture through the cooperative framework. NCCF described the DBT bonus as a significant step towards recognising the role of women farmers in ensuring the country’s food and nutritional security.
