More than 3.9 lakh bottles of Nano Urea and Nano DAP were sold in Uttar Pradesh during the ongoing Kharif 2026 season, the Centre informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Replying to a question, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel said 3,08,008 bottles of Nano Urea and 82,809 bottles of Nano DAP were sold in the state between April 1 and July 15, 2026. The products are being distributed through cooperative societies, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), private fertilizer dealers and other authorized channels.

The minister said the adoption of nano fertilizers is steadily increasing due to awareness campaigns, field demonstrations and farmer training programmes conducted by ICAR, the Uttar Pradesh Government, fertilizer companies and other stakeholders.

To assess the replacement of conventional urea by Nano Urea, the Department of Fertilizers has commissioned two studies through the National Productivity Council (NPC) covering Uttar Pradesh and nine other states.

Patel also informed the House that IFFCO has established two nano fertilizer manufacturing plants at Aonla and Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh, each with an annual production capacity of 6 crore bottles, ensuring adequate supply to meet the state’s growing demand.
