A recent study jointly carried out by the ILO and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) has concluded that cooperatives are generating jobs, providing clean energy , ensuring financial inclusion , raising the level of gender equality and making several other useful contributions towards general economic development and transformation in society, Mr. Ryder underscored.

According to him, cooperatives are especially engaged in accomplishing the great goals of social justice and environmental balance in the world.

Mr. Ryder reiterated the ILO’s resolve to work together with the cooperative movement to solve teeming social and economic problems facing mankind.
