Training would reduce corruption in cooperatives: Chandra Pal

The world has changed after the globalization as business practices of the past have turned obsolete. While the corporate sector has adapted itself quickly to the new business climate, the cooperative sector has yet to do it. These are the words of NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav spoken on the occasion of inauguration of the NCCT’s Train the Trainer programme on Monday in N Delhi.

The NCCT is organising the TTT Programme from 7-10 September, 2015 in collaboration with ISTD Delhi Chapter & TraNc for the faculty members of RICMs and ICMs.

While the programme was inaugurated by Dr. Chandra Pal on Monday, Dr. U.S Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO will deliver the valedictory address on Thursday at IFFCO, Saket.

The truth is that cooperative and cooperative lone could challenge the hegemony of corporates and in that sense your training is very important, said the President.

The cooperative movement of India is the strongest in the world as it springs from the grass-roots unlike other countries where it is generally propped up by the govt. There is no gainsaying the fact that some of the cooperatives have erred in the past bringing bad name to the cooperative movement. And this was partly due to the fact that persons at the helm had no professional training.

Your training is important as you would train thousands of cooperators in turn who would be able to manage the cooperative show professionally, said Yadav to a large number of participants who have come from various ICMs and RICMs spread across states.

He thanked Mohan Mishra NCCT Secretary profusely for conceiving the idea and DG Dr Dinesh for facilitating the programmes.

Earlier NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra welcomed the participants and thanked Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, the Chairman of NCCT for agreeing to inaugurate the show at a very short notice. Dr Dinesh said that training should not be seen as expenditure but as investment. He quoted an American study in which it was found that for every dollar spent on training had a return of dollar nine.

Nilesh Nilay the man behind the show was full of praise for the Chairman and told the participants that they should feel themselves lucky to have a Chairman who is open minded and gives a free hand to his team to do things the way they want to.
