Sanghani seeks financial assistance for NCUI’s new initiatives

Addressing the webinar which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the positive impact of Union Budget 2022 in the Agriculture sector, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani highlighted the contributions of the apex body of cooperatives in realizing the vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ and listed out several initiatives being undertaken by them.

“NCUI is working to strengthen the economy of the country through cooperatives. Offering a platform to the Self-Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups which are mostly run by women, we have launched ‘NCUI Haat’ which is witnessing a huge crowd on a daily basis. Besides, we are also focusing on compiling data on the contribution of co-ops in Gross Domestic Product”, said Sanghani.

He further added that NCUI has built a ‘Skill Development Centre’ at Noida for giving training to co-ops and also established an Incubation Centre which will be inaugurated on 8th March. Under the ‘Co-op Connect’ campaign, more than 5000 students of prestigious schools have participated in a cooperative awareness program.

Sanghani informed that NCUI has shortlisted 50 PACCs and will do the computerization of them. “To address the issues related to co-ops, we have set up an Advisory Council. Besides, the MoUs with NIESBUD, APEDA, WDRA, NASVI, and others have been signed-in different fields”, he added.

In his speech, Sanghani demanded an increase in the financial assistance given to NCUI in the context of the initiatives being undertaken by the apex body.

He also lauded the efforts of the Central Government for the creation of a new ministry for co-ops and the allocation of a separate budget for the same. In the Union Budget for cooperative education and Cooperative training, Rs 30 and 25 crores were allotted respectively.

On the occasion, several sessions were organized and one session was given to the Ministry of Cooperation. The theme was ‘Sahakarita se Samridhi’ and this session was chaired by the Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala.

Besides Rupala, Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma, top officials of the ministry of cooperation including Cooperative Secretary D K Singh, Joint Secretary Abhay Kumar and others were present.
