Sanghani meets PM Modi; discusses co-op issues along with Nano Urea

NCUI Chairman Dileep Sanghani met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed, among other things, enhancing the value-added service in agriculture through co-ops spread across the country.

The picture of Sanghani with the PM doing rounds on the social media, caught the fancy of co-operators. Many of them profusely thanked him for making co-operative a major concern for the current govt.

Sanghani met the Prime Minister in his Parliamentary office on Wednesday and discussed a host of issues related to the cooperative sector for about half an hour. As the Vice-Chairman of IFFCO, Sanghani also informed the Prime Minister about IFFCO’s new invention of Nano Urea besides other things.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Sanghani said “PM listened to my words patiently; the meeting lasted more than 25 minutes and we discussed issues related to cooperatives. The IFFCO Nano Technology was the main topic of discussion but there were also discussions about strengthening the cooperative movement of the country and enhancing the value-added service in agriculture through cop-ops”, he added.

In his meeting with the Prime Minister Sanghani took the opportunity to thank him for creating a separate ministry for cooperation, a much sought-after demand of the co-operative sector. Sanghani told the Prime Minister that this would give a further boost to the cooperative movement in the country, the largest movement of the world.

Soon after the meeting, the NCUI Chairman shared photos and the details of the meeting not only with Indian Cooperative but also with social media. Lauded and encouraged by the first Prime Minister of India, the subject cooperative has ever since been sliding down in the govt scheme of things. “Credit indeed goes to Sanghani for making it centre-stage”, said Sunil Singh, Chairman of Biscomaun while commenting on the meeting of Sanghani with the PM.

Amid congratulatory messages pouring in on his facebook wall, one of his followers wrote, “Dileep Sanghani Sahib is a veteran politician, he is a close associate of the PM. He can extract maximum possible concessions for cooperatives from the present Govt. wishing for his success”.

When Indian Cooperative phoned him, Sanghani was at the Delhi airport ready to fly home, after wrapping up a satisfying two-day hectic schedule in the capital. During his stay in the capital he not only met Union Ministers Parshottam Rupala and Mansukhbhai Mandaviya but also attended meetings at NCUI, IFFCO and Nafed. No wonder Indian Cooperative captioned his visit the other day in these columns “Sanghani on a whirlwind tour of Delhi”.
