In an exclusive video interview given to Indian Cooperative during his recent visit to Delhi, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani disclosed that the apex co-op body is seriously mulling the idea of setting up a mall to showcase co-operative products, usually ignored by big outlets.
“To showcase co-op products made by women cooperatives across the country, NCUI is planning to have a Mall-like structure for the purpose within its campus”, Sanghani revealed.
Giving details, Sanghani said the building will facilitate women cooperatives of different states to showcase their products for 8-10 days. They cannot have the place permanently as it would be offered on rotation to different states, he stated. “Something on the lines of Dilli Haat”, he added.
Though the budget for the Co-op Haat has not been passed yet, the idea has got clearance at the policy level, explained Sanghani who sounded optimistic of making NCUI a talking point in the world cooperative scenario during his tenure as the President.
