NCUI to learn hi-tech agri practices from Israel

A press statement issued by NCUI says “ Eden Horticulture Services in collaboration with Embassy of Israel, New Delhi and National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) is organizing one day event for launching of “Professional Agri Tour – Learning from Israel Hi-Tech Agriculture Development” 27th December from 10:30 December at its Delhi headquarters.

The participants in the event will include progressive farmers and SMEs, representatives from Agricultural Cooperatives and officials of the Embassy of Israel and NCUI.

Dr. Akhilesh kumar who is heading Eden Horticulture Services and a post doctoral fellow for Israel who was actively involved in Indo-Israel collaboration especially in the Agriculture sector will highlight the progress and prospects of Hi-tech agriculture in India.

Israel’s know-how in agricultural field is well-known. Under the auspices of Indo-Israel Agricultural Project (IIAP) agreements for agricultural partnership have been signed and 20 Centres of Excellence in Agriculture have been set up in Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab where farmers / agriculturists have benefited in terms of increased production /productivity and better financial returns on their investment.

Earlier, in February this year NCUI collaborated with leading Israeli Agricultural Project Companies and Experts under the aegis of Trade & Economic Mission of the Embassy of Israel, New Delhi.
