NCUI Organizes Media-Coop Meet

NCUI is organizing Media-Cooperative meet on Monday to create an atmosphere of trust and communication between the two. The program is likely to be inaugurated by eminent journalist Shri Alok Mehta.

Talking to Indiacooperative.com, Mr Mohan Mishra,Director Publicity  said that NCUI feels that the IYC gives us one of the rarest and the biggest opportunity to raise public awareness of our unique values based business model and also take advantage to create visibility for the cooperatives by highlighting our achievements, success stories made by us for the socio economic empowerment and common economic need.

United Nation has declared Year-2012 as International Year of Cooperative (IYC) and also communicated to Government of India and various cooperative organisations to celebrate the Year in a most befitting manner.

It may be  noted that UN had identified the slogan for the IYC with a theme Cooperative Enterprises Building of Better World.

In order to celebrate IYC in a befitting manner NCUI is looking forward towards Media as one of the important stakeholder for creating a mass awareness and visibility of cooperatives, said Mr Mishra.

With this backdrop we are organising a National Workshop titled “MEDIA – COOPERATIVE SYNERGY FOR THE IYC CELEBRATION” to identify our strength, weakness and opportunity & relationship with media besides, knowing what role media may play in promoting and strengthening the celebration of International Year of Cooperative, added Mr Mishra.

This workshop will help us in understanding the expectation of Media from cooperative world and vis-versa and what synergies these two important institutions may have i.e., for collaboration and strategic alliances to create better public awareness and higher visibility for the benefit of empowerment of people of this country.

Besides eminent journalist , Chairmen & Managing Directors of National Level Cooperative Federations,  representatives of Government of India, ICA, NCDC, & NABARD  are also likely to participate..
