NCUI: NCCE trains with a focus on digital banking

National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) of NCUI recently conducted a Leadership Development Programme for Urban Cooperative Banks of India in New Delhi with a special focus on cashless & digital banking.

The program was aimed at developing their leadership and managerial skills with a special focus on cashless & digital banking, read a NCUI press release. More than 35 participants from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, M.P. and Maharashtra participated in the program.

The participants were provided with a platform to interact among themselves and to discuss the challenges facing banks and how to meet these challenges.

The program also focused on underscoring the importance of effective communication & Leadership that are crucial to achieving the targets and providing satisfactory services to the members.

In his opening remarks Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE explained in some details the role of education & training in making the Cooperative Banking sector a potent tool of development. Yogesh Sharma, Director, NAFCUB was present on this occasion.

Experts from Govt of India and different renowned institutions discussed topics like digital banking – cashless transaction, Auditing for UCBs, GST, Recovery challenges, Important Regulatory Prescriptions and compliance management – provisions of BR act 1949, Cyber Security framework.

In his valedictory remarks, N. Satya Narayana Chief Executive, NCUI underlined the importance of good leadership in the success of Urban Cooperative Banks He also noted that urban cooperative banks have the potential to compete with private and nationalized banks.

The NCUI CE suggested these banks should improve their services with the help of innovative technology and professional management.
