NCUI: NCCE trains staff-members of SEWA

NCCE of NCUI recently organized a two-day online Training Program for the women of SEWA Cooperatives. The latter are leading Women Cooperative Organizations in India. The program was attended by 45 participants, informs a press release.

The program was an effort towards making women coops and SHGs self-reliant economic enterprises so as to strengthen their capacity building, socio economic sustainability, management competence and financial stability in cooperatives working under SEWA in different parts of the country.

The main focus was on upgrading the professional managerial skills and economic capabilities of the trained and competent professionals in women cooperatives. The program was inaugurated by Dr. V.K. Dubey who spoke about the importance of women training for their capacity building.

SEWA coops. and collectives are recognized for their fully autonomous strategically sound micro business enterprises and SHGs with maximum memberships and economic stability. Their cooperative activities, programs and services are dominant in the areas of poverty alleviation, self-employment programs, social assistance, investment opportunities and benefit schemes for women coops.

The training will also strengthen business management functions, creativity powers and leadership qualities aligned with cooperative values and principles.

This can help in improving the professionalization, self-employment, resource generation, innovation and social economic development. The benefits will include strengthening the cooperative education and training, technical competence and financial assistance for better sustainability of coops.

The participants were satisfied with the program and expressed their views about its usefulness.
