NCUI: NCCE takes women cooperators to field visits

NCCE of NCUI recently organized a three day Leadership Development Programme for Chairpersons and Directors of Women Cooperatives of India in New Delhi to up-grade their managerial and entrepreneurship skills.

The participants also learnt about how to establish micro-enterprises such as cooperatives and SHGs to involve more and more women and youth in gainful agricultural activities. A range of subjects relevant to the training programme had been put in a capsule form for the participants.

Opening the programme, Dr. A.R.Srinath Deputy Director NCCE said women cooperators deserve appreciation for organizing various cooperative enterprises and helping poor women with jobs and income. He urged women to come forward to transform the rural economy.

In his interaction with the participants, N. Satyanarayana, Chief Executive, NCUI said women need to get involved in income generating activities so as to play a crucial role in the development of society. Citing the examples of Amul and similar successful cooperative models, he explained how women could emulate their successes and achievements.

As a part of the programme the participants also visited Topic Centre NCDC, Gurugram to have field experience. The participants learnt about the NCDC working as well as how to devise strategies for cooperative development. The participants were visibly impressed by the training and their visit to NCDC centre.
