NCUI: NCCE contributes its bit to Blue Revolution

NCCE-the education arm of apex cooperative body in the country NCUI recently organized ”Leadership Development Programme for chairmen and Directors of Fishery cooperative Societies.

Participants numbering close to 50 from different states of the country took part in the programme which took place at NCUI headquarters in Delhi.

The main objective of the programme was to improve participants’ managerial skill for fisheries, farming, and management of Cooperative Societies.

The programme was also intended to provide the participants with an opportunity to learn and discuss the problems and challenges confronting fishery cooperatives.

It bears recall that fishery sector has been earmarked as one of the means for doubling farmers’ income- a vow Modi govt took son after coming to power.

Keeping the emphasis of Prime Minister and agriculture minister on Blue Revolution NCUI is eager to contribute its bit; we keep training the man-power involved in fishery sector at regular intervals, said NCUI Chief Executive, N Satyanarayan to Indian Cooperative.

In his inaugural address, Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said the Fisheries are functioning for the betterment of the Cooperative Sector. He called upon fishery cooperatives to adopt innovative strategies so as to compete with their counterparts.

In his remarks, B.K. Mishra, Managing Director, FISHCOFED said the development of fisheries calls for a databank so that the necessary information can be provided to the needy societies. The network of fishery cooperatives across the country plays an important role in empowering the poor through sustainable business approaches and practices, Mishra emphasized.

Speaking on the occasion, D. K. Chaudhary, Assistant Director, FISHCOFED urged Chairmen / Boards of Directors of Fishery Cooperative Societies to use the latest techniques in the development of Fisheries.

Dr. A. R. Srinath, Deputy Director, NCUI coordinated the programme.
