NCUI joins hands with Nafcub to train UCB cooperators

A leadership Development Programme for Chairmen and Directors of urban cooperative banks and credit cooperative societies were held last week at NCUI headquarters.

In collaboration with NAFCUB, NCCE of National Cooperative Union of India organized a three day training course last week for up-gradation of knowledge and skills of chairmen and directors of Urban Cooperative Banks & Thrift & Credit Cooperatives of the country.

The aim was to refresh and hone their leadership skills by educating them on various aspects of governance like cooperative ideology, with special emphasis on cyber-security and prevention of financial frauds in view of the digitalisation of the banking sector along with other banking related topics like debt-recovery and latest RBI guidelines etc.

The programme was attended by 38 elected board of directors from many banks of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha and Delhi.

Inaugurating the programme Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said that the credit sector is doing a commendable job in the country by financing small businesses and playing the role of catalyst in developing the economy.

Yogesh Sharma, Director, NAFCUB thanked the participants for taking out time to attend the training programme and appreciated the role being played by NCUI through its education wing NCCE for imparting quality training to the leaders, members and employees of the cooperative sector.

The programme was well-received by all the participants who found the course content relevant, but also stressed that a separate programmes must be conducted on “Cyber-Security for the Banking Sector” which is the need of the hour.

The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Sandhya Kapoor, Dy Director, NCCE.
