NCUI joins hands with CICTAB to train participants of SAARC nations

NCUI in collaboration with CICTAB begun its five day International Program “Training Techniques for Trainers of Co-operatives and Rural Financing Institutions” in Delhi at its headquarters on Monday.

29 participants of Central Banks, Cooperative and Rural financing institutions of SAARC countries viz Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India are participating in the training program.

Notable personalities including Dr. Manoj Nardeosingh, Secretary General, AARDO, NCUI CE N Satayanaryana and other top officials of NCUI were present on the occasion.

Dr. Manoj Nardeosingh, Secretary General, AARDO stressed on rural transformation.” We want good rural financial institutions in India to meet the demands of farmers of the country. I hope that this program will empower you in every aspect”, he said to the participants.

Nardeosingh futher said that there is a need to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Without co-ops we can’t empower the agriculture sector. Technology adoption in cooperatives is very important for competing with other players of the market”, he added.

“Training is very important for everyone as it helps get basic knowledge on specific topics. The knowledge which you would gather during the five day training program could be implemented in cooperative institutions.

Singh also urged participants to share ideas and innovations of their respective countries. SAARC countries participants could be seen enjoying the session and contributing with a positive mindset.

In his remarks NCUI’s CE N Satyanarayan said “Around 70 percent of Indian population depends upon agriculture and a large number of them are caught up in poverty. There is a need to get farmers a fair deal”.

The objective of cooperative is to identify the last human being of society and help them overcome their poverty. The NCUI CE said there are around 8.3 lakh cooperative societies in India” and it offers a huge network for any scheme to be implemented.
