NCUI joins hands with CICTAB to kick off “Training the Trainers” prog

The Centre for International Cooperation & Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB) Pune and National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) jointly kicked off an International Online Training Program titled “Training Techniques for Trainers of Co-operative and Rural Financing Institutions” on Wednesday.

The four-day program, which was inaugurated by NCUI President Dileep Sanghani, has about 50 participants from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. Sanghani flew from Gandhinagar to be at the NCUI headquarters in Delhi to participate in the program, said NCUI sources.

The program topic includes systematic approach of training & development – its need analysis, design & contents, planning & implementation of training programs using various training techniques & methods, training evaluation, concept & strategies of HRD for personnel of cooperatives & rural financing institutions towards sustained economic / rural development etc.

Several subject matter experts and eminent resource persons have been enlisted for the program, claimed Ritesh Dey, NCUI Director and the moderator of the inaugural session.

Welcoming the participants, Sanghani said cooperatives continue to have great relevance, as they have an institutional mechanism for ensuring equitable distribution of benefits among members. To provide education and guidance to the members of cooperatives as well as to run the cooperative institutions in a professional manner, there is a need for ‘Capacity Building’ and adequate ‘Human Resource’, he added.

NCUI has been playing an important role in ‘Human Resource Development’ by finding ways and means to remove the difficulties that arose due to the COVID – 19 pandemic and trying its best to convert threats into opportunities, said Sanghani.

Lauding CICTAB, NCUI President said it is an important platform to integrate the training of personnel engaged in those organizations which are promoting and financing rural development activities through innovative and multi-disciplinary approach.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Dr. K.K. Tripathi, Director, CICTAB and Dr D. Ravi, Consultant, CICTAB. NCUI Chief Executive N Satya Narayan welcomed the guests.

While Ritesh Dey moderated the inaugural session ably, K N Singh Program Director proposed a vote of thanks.
