NCUI Ex-CE R C Dwivedi is no more

Former Chief Executive of the apex body of cooperatives, National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) and a well known face at national and international level in the cooperative world, R C Dwivedi died due to Parkinson’s disease last week in Delhi in a private hospital. He had served NCUI for more than 5 years.

It is reported that he had been sick for a long time and was admitted to the Max hospital on 27th March after a severe pain. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his son Ashish Dwivedi who works as one of the directors at the NCUI.

R C Dwivedi started his career from ICM, Hyderabad as the principal and later moved on to NCUI as a Joint Director, Education. He also served as the director of VAMNICOM, Pune.

He had played an important role in framing the Multi State Cooperative Society Act 2002 and worked for years in ICA as a consultant. He has written many books on cooperatives.

When Balram Jakhar was the governor of Madhya Pradesh, Dwivedi worked with him as officer on special duty. He contributed a lot in the development of the apex body as well as the cooperative movement of country in general.
