National Cooperation Union of India is busy celebrating vigilance awareness week these days. The theme of the vigilance awareness week is “Preventive vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”.

A press release mailed by NCUI states “as per the guidelines of central vigilance commission, NCUI and NCCT are conducting the vigilance awareness week from 26th- 31st October, 2015.

On this occasion Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive delivered the oath of office to all the officers and staff members of NCUI and NCCT.  Satya Narayna, Executive Director and CVO gave presentation on “preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”.

In his speech Dr Dinesh stressed on transparency. Employing IT practices can check corruption in a big way, he felt. Dinesh also emphasized the role of information technology in making NCUI a paperless office. Periodic interactions and discussions with the CVO are essential for effective functioning, he added.

In his presentation Satya Narayana highlighted the areas where vigilance plays crucial role in curtailing leakages. Corruption, bribery and cases of fraud would reduce by themselves if we increasingly go high-tech, he added.

Satya Narayan also elaborated on the statutory acts aimed at prevention of corruption, identification of fraud prone sectors and ethics in corporate governance. Further, he has stated the role, powers and functions of CVOs for effective functioning of the organization.
