NCCT scales new heights in 2013-14

NCCT has been at the forefront in the imparting training to the cooperative personnel throughout the country. The NCCT through its network comprising VAMNICOM, Pune, National Institute, 5 Regional Institute of cooperative management, and 14 Institute of Cooperative management has been committed to cater to the needs of the cooperative personnel as well as other allied organisations. It looks after the training requirements of middle level executives of cooperatives at the district level and state level. The VAMNICOM is providing training to the senior executives.

The training units of the council have been imparting training to the personnel of all sectors of cooperative movement in India to enhance knowledge, skill and attitude of the employees Professional courses like PGDM (Agri-Business), MBA, MCA, PGDCA, BBA and Diploma in Rural Management etc. are also conducted by the training units to equip the participants with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude required to manage the cooperative enterprises.

Accreditation of Training Institutes Certification of Training Institution by way of Accreditation was initiated by Centre for Professional Excellence in cooperatives (C-PEC) of Banker Institute of Rural Development (BIRD) to ensure desired standards of training. All the RICMs/ICMs of NCCT are accredited with C-PEC as they fulfils the required parameters set by C-PEC i.e. curricular design and development, preparation of Course material, Updation of training modules and course material, feedback from participants and institutions and faculty expertise and development etc.
SOFTCOB Assistance from NABARD

After taking into cognizance the contribution of the NCCT and its units (RICMs/ICMs) in strengthening the Cooperative Credit System (CCS) training mechanism, NABARD extended its support to selected training programmes of RICMs/ICMS in the modified Scheme of Financial Assistance for Training of Cooperative Bank Personnel’s (SOFTCOB) policy.

SOFTCOB assistance will be available only for C-PEC accredited institutions for conducting C-PEC approved programmes co-ordinated by “CTFC” passed faculty members. As all the RICMs/ICMs are accredited with C-PEC and having pool of CTFC passed faculty members, the scheme has been extended to the NCCT for the first time.

Faculty Development Programmes

NCCT nominate Faculty Members to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to upgrade the knowledge/skill and exchange of views.

Apart from the above Council takes lead in deputing its faculty members to different other training programmes organised by reputed training institutions like Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow, College of Agriculture Banking (CAB) Pune, MANAGE Hyderabad & CICTAB, Pune. Altogether 47 Faculty members of different RICMs/ICMs have passed Certified Trainer for Financial Cooperatives CTFC course being offered by the C-PEC Bird Lucknow and have become certified trainers for Banking/Financial Cooperatives.
National Colloquium on Cooperative Training

NCCT organized the National Colloquium on Cooperative Training and Awards Function on 31st January and 1st February 2014 at New Delhi. Around 200 participants attended the colloquium which was organized for the first time in the history of NCCT. The participants comprised of representatives of National level Federations, NABARD, BIRD, Directors of RICMS/ICMS Principals/faculty members of Junior Cooperative training Centers and other dignitaries from Government of India and other cooperative organizations. The colloquium discussed about the current status of cooperative training in the country and draw out an Action Plan for professionalizing cooperative training in the country.

Signing of MoU’s

1. NCCT has signed an MoU with National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD) under the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Entreprises (MSME). The signing of MOU will entitle all the RICMs/ICMs to organise the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDPS) on regular basis.

2. An MoU was signed with National Backward Classes and Finance Development Corporation (NBCFDC) for the training of the participants of the Backward Classes to enable them for wage employment/self employment.

IMPORTANT EVENTS:

1.ICM Imphal celebrated Silver Jubilee on 11th & 12th May, 2013 and Shri M. Okendro Singh, Hon’ble Minister, Education, Manipur, Dr. Kh. Ratankumar, Hon’ble Minister, Works & Transport and Kumari A.K. Mirabai Devi, Hon’ble Cooperative & Social Welfare, Manipur released 1st Quarterly News Letter of NCCT on the occasion.

2. Dr. A.K. Bhutani IAS, Joint Secretary and Central Registrar, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India inaugurated the Training Programme on Financial Management- Accounting Principles and Procedures for the Staff of NCCT and its training units on 26th May, 2013 at New Delhi.

3. NCCT Annual Calendar of Training Programme 2013-14 was released by Shri Keshav Prasad Badal, Chairman NCF, Nepal and Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, Chairman NCCT during the valedictory function of 16th Indian Cooperative Congress on 26th June, 2013

4. 14th Volume of Hindi Pradipti released by Sh. Srikant Jena, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independant Charge) for Chemicals & Fertilisers and Statistics & Programme Implementation and Shri Shivraj V. Patil, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator U.T. Chandigarh on 26th June, 2013.

5. Working Group of “Off-site Surveillance” of accredited CTI’s C-PEC visited NCCT on 19th August, 2013 to have intensive interaction on the process for preparing expenditure budget, training targets, monitoring mechanism and faculty development, faculty evaluation etc. The group comprised Shri Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary NCCT, Dr. R.P. Nainta, Prinicipal ACSTI Shimla, Ms. Shikha, AGM BIRD and Dr. J.S. Kalra, DGM NABARD.

6. Shri S. Demodaran, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Govt. of Tamilnadu visited NICM, Chennai on 17th September, .2013 for the inauguration of MBA Programme.

7. Shri Santosh Patil, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Govt. of Maharastra visited ICM, Nagpur on 19.12.2013.

8. Shri Raghav Chandra IAS, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India inaugurated the National Colloquium on Cooperative Training at The Hotel Kempinski Ambience, New Delhi on 31st January, 2014.

9. Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, Chairman NCCT graced the National Colloquium on Cooperative Training on 31st January, 2014 as President and Chief Gust of Awards Function on 1st February, 2014 respectively.

10. Dr. Dalip Singh, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India visited RICM, Chandigarh on 12th February, 2014 and had interaction with the faculty, staff and participants.

11. Dr. A.K. Bhutani IAS, Joint Secretary and Central Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India visited RICM, Bangalore, RICM Chandigarh, ICM, Guwahati and Lucknow during the year 2013-14 and had interaction with the faculty, staff and participants.

FINANCE

1. NCCT has been receiving 100% grant-in-aid from Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Govt. of India. With effect from financial year 2012-13 NCCT has been receiving grant-in-aid out of interest earning of Corpus fund for Cooperative Training created during 10th Five Year Plan. The expenditure for the 1st 2 years of the 12th Five Year Plan has been given hereunder:
