NCCT audit exposes many defaulters

NCCT audit has exposed the mal-practices several staff members as well as chairmen of ICMs and RICMs spread across the country take recourse to.

One of the latest victims is Vamnicom Professor P Chattopadhyay who has knocked every door complaining against non-payment of salaries. He accuses its Director Sanjib Patjoshi of not releasing his salaries for the past 8 months.

‘’I have not been getting my salaries for so many months and this has given rise to severe hardships,’’ Chattopadhyaya said to Indian Cooperative. Earlier, his sms on the issue was sent to everyone from top bosses of NCUI to the Ministry officials.

Vamnicom Director Sanjib Patjoshi outright rejected Chattopadhyay’s charge. ‘No its wrong he is not getting his salaries”. Explaining further he says there are dues to be recovered from him and we cannot overlook it,” he added.

Professor Chattopadhyay was staying in hostel and availing himself of HRA too. This was discovered in the audit conducted by NCCT. Later NCCT wrote letters and put pressure on us; what can we do, he added.

There are close to Rs 70-80 thousand dues to be recovered from him. Not only that, he sat tight on a cheque obtained from training programme in 2013 until it lapsed. Professor is also keeping an institute’s laptop though he is not authorized. We may have to deduct money from hi s salary if he does not return, Patjoshi went on giving details.

He is getting salaries but a reduced one as the recoveries have begun.

NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra however refused to share details of defaulters. According to sources several elected Chairmen have been treating the campus as personal fiefdom and hold political meetings in the cooperative campus without batting an eyelid.
